Music Education
Lilian is not only an accomplished artist but also a dedicated music educator, inspiring students with her infectious passion for music. She teaches with enthusiasm at both the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Codarts Rotterdam (Global Music Department). However, her dedication to sharing music extends far beyond the academic classrooms: Lilian actively engages with children in primary schools across Amsterdam and Utrecht, guiding young minds through rhythm, song, and the boundless joy of musical expression.
Music Lessons for Children and Conservatory Students
I have the great joy of teaching music in primary and secondary schools in Amsterdam and Utrecht, as well as at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Codarts. This means that I get to spend most of my days — and weeks — surrounded by music, something I deeply cherish.
Each group of students requires its own approach. The way children connect with music — and dive into it — is always unique. It’s magical to witness how a child engages with sound, rhythm, and the sense of freedom each note can offer.
In my teaching, I draw inspiration from various musical and pedagogical traditions. The Kodály method plays an important role in my work, especially in how it makes music feel almost physical — through hand signs (manosolfa), colors, and movement. I combine this with other methods and creative tools, including everyday materials like plastic cups, which help bring music to life in a playful way.

Musical Storytelling
One special part of my classes is the use of musical storytelling. These stories began as a fun improvisation and have become a core part of my work. Through them, I introduce children to musical concepts like notes, rhythm, and meter in an imaginative and joyful way. The kids love them — and so do I!
My work is always done in close collaboration with the classroom teachers, who welcome me weekly and trust me with their students. I’m truly grateful for their support and partnership.
Lessons for all ages (10-100)
One of the most delightful things in life is being able to sing, release emotions, and travel through chords and the stories behind each song. I especially enjoy creating phrasing and experimenting with combinations and variations.
I don’t see myself strictly as a jazz singer — I’m a Brazilian singer open to different styles, curious about other people’s music, and always eager to learn and grow through musical exchange.
